Vāyuputra — son of Vāyu — is an epithet of Sri Hanuman, invoked for courage, strength and constancy. Families ask for it before something demanding, and for someone carrying a long difficulty without relief.
It is also kept on Tuesdays and Saturdays by families who observe it as a regular practice rather than a one-time rite.
